How do build a 'god'

Idolatry is not just an ancient practice or something that happens in far away lands. Watch this video and ask yourself what do you make your 'god' out of?

Half-way Christians

I loved this quote that Ray Ortlund Jr. recently shared from his father.

"My dad used to say to me, when I was a kid, “Listen, son. Half-hearted Christians are the most miserable people of all. They know enough to feel guilty, but they haven’t gone far enough with Christ to be happy. Be wholehearted for him!” (HT: Ray Ortlund Jr.)

Join us for an evening of LOVE

Please plan to join us Friday, February 12 at 7 PM for a special screening of the recently released movie NO GREATER LOVE.

Take a look at our NGL page.

And check out the write up in the Huntsville Times.

It's not about what you do

There is a one day conference coming up in Nashville in a few weeks (Feb 10). Many people see Christianity as a God's work on the cross plus our work at righteousness.  But this 'performance' mentality is a dangerous and defeating way to live. I encourage you to check out Honesty: Death to Performance for an exploration of this idea.

That's Christmas

Praying the Gospel

Each year our church sets aside a time to seek God together. In this week we encourage people to spend extended time reading God's word and in prayer. To facilitate this, we produce a booklet that directs each day. Over the past few years these booklets have focused on different areas of need and ministry both inside and outside Hope Church. This year however, we wanted to approach this week a little differently. Instead of a diverse focus we wanted to narrow in on one idea.
