Hope Church

Praying the Gospel

Each year our church sets aside a time to seek God together. In this week we encourage people to spend extended time reading God's word and in prayer. To facilitate this, we produce a booklet that directs each day. Over the past few years these booklets have focused on different areas of need and ministry both inside and outside Hope Church. This year however, we wanted to approach this week a little differently. Instead of a diverse focus we wanted to narrow in on one idea.

Come thou fount

This Saturday, Mark Nicks of Cool Hand Luke will be playing at Hope. Come hear him and see the documentary "Invisible Children". You can get more info on Saturday here. Mark will also be leading us in music on Sunday morning.

Are you brave enough to pray this?

Jacksonville Mission - Day 3

Our team continues to serve well in Jacksonville. I briefly heard from Brian, they are hot and no A.C. Sweatin' for Jesus.

Pray for them today . . .

that they have opportunities and discernment to preach the Gospel and their attitudes continue to reflect Christ Jesus.

Jacksonville Mission 2009 - Day 1

The team made it 'safe and sound' to Jacksonville. But their mascot didn't . . .

They have spotty internet coverage so we will do what we can to keep you updated during the week.

In the meantime, pray for these things today.

VBS, pray that we have opportunities and discernment to preach the Gospel.

Holy Hip Hop

A few weeks ago I mentioned 'holy hip-hop'. Below is an example of what I was talking about. It may not be your style, but its hard to deny its gospel-centricity. Take a listen or just follow the words. And realize the many ways God can bring glory to himself.

Calvin Tweets the Gospel

Recently a popular teacher was asked what he would write if he “tweeted” the gospel. In my estimation and others he did an extremely poor job. But it challenged me to consider how I would give the gospel in 140 characters. Not an easy task. And possibly not even a wise one.

Unchanging & the always changing

God doesn't change and neither does His gospel truth. But our world does. Will you take the truth to this world?

A Quiet Epidemic

In the last few days the stories, press conferences, and fears have continued to grow over a sickness that threatens our nation.  And now the story has turned from an international curiosity to a local concern causing a rush to doctors and emergency rooms.  In an effort to stem the growing wave of infection schools have been closed and events have been canceled.  While there are calls for calm there is an undercurrent of fear that idles quietly beneath, feed by the ongoing alerts an
