You only think I guessed wrong! That's what's so funny! I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha... *thunk*

"They have taken the bridge and the second hall. We have barred the gates but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes, drums... drums in the deep. We cannot get out. A shadow moves in the dark. We cannot get out... they are coming."
God Sighting
Submitted by andy on Fri, 05/16/2008 - 08:24.Last weekend we looked at 1 Corinthians 1:4-9 where despite the fact that the Corinthian church was opposing Paul, he was thankful to God for them. We said it was because that he was looking for “evidences of grace” in their life. He was thankful for the ways that they were living out the life of Christ (Gal 2:20). Even though they had more to change God was working in them and that was a reason to be grateful to God.

Nicaragua Missions - Day 7
Submitted by andy on Fri, 05/02/2008 - 18:17.Hi All,
Thanks so much for praying for us. Today the bulb finally gave up the ghost. BUT that was really a blessing to us - there was so much material to get through that I was concerned I would be able to finish. With no projection, I was able to teach without getting bogged down in eschatology diagrams, etc. so that really worked out fine. It was also so hot in the church I don't think the added heat near the podium from the projector would have been welcome!

Nicaragua Missions - Day 5

When you order toast on Nicaragua, it is PERFECTLY toasted. It is sold toasted, unlike in the US where you can only buy toast "ingredients". It also seems quite stale to an American palate.

Hello from Nicaragua!
Nicaragua Missions - Day 4
Submitted by andy on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 18:38.
Hello all,
Tuesday was a good day. Cairo taught first today on the doctrine of Christ. Then Steve taught on the Holy Spirit, and I taught the first part of the angel doctrine. Overall it went pretty well. We had a couple of questions that seemed to come out of left field that we needed to go back to the books to answer.

Of course, bottled water is de rigeur in Nicaragua. We are really going through it!
We are getting final printing done this morning after a long power failure last evening. Then it's off to the institute to begin the course!

Nicaragua Missions - Day 2
Submitted by andy on Sun, 04/27/2008 - 15:48.Here is the day 2 update
Morning
Met with Mark Griffin for breakfast at the hotel; my first "gallo pinto" experience. Nicaragua coffee is THICK, and contains plenty of caffeine.
Today our focus is on finalizing preparations for the course starting tomorrow morning. Vern is "up" first with the introduction to the course and is working hard to finalize his material.
