Hope Church

Life in our times continues to amaze me. Not that long ago going on a missions trip meant long days of travel, encountering dangerous conditions and obstacles en route, complete separation from friends and family, detachment from all things familiar, and many days of learning and adjustment before effective ministry could take place. But, not in today’s world.

Last night, I slept in my own bed. Tonight, I am thousands of miles away in Nicaragua. Last night, I checked e-mail, paid bills, and checked in with my family. Tonight, I did all of those things, all from the comfort of my hotel room. I even “chatted” with friends on Facebook. Last night, I enjoyed wings at my favorite haunt. Tonight, I had beans and rice, fried plantains, grilled beef, and a coke all for $4 while I looked at an Eminem poster. Different, but still delicious.

Our world continues to shrink. I am not saying there are not challenges to overcome. And I know it’s not like this everywhere. But being on mission for Jesus in some ways is easier than ever. So why aren’t you here?

Wow, I know whatyoumean!

Wow, I know whatyoumean! the plantion sounds wonderful, brings back memories of Haiti! I am praying that God will give you a super amount of strength and the words to say to impart His glory and help many understand the awesome privilege of sharing his word! I have been reading "He is not Silent" by A. Mohler and it reinforces the priority and challenge of preaching! I am praying for a great time for you this week!
